Powers and Duties of the Court Administrator

Township Ordinance §10-6 establishes the Court Administrator's powers and duties

The Court Administrator duties include but are not limited to:

Carrying out the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to the operation of the Court.

Interviewing and speaking to persons wishing to file criminal complaints or wishing information in this regard; receiving complaints and dispensing information relating to Court matters.

Maintaining the financial records of the Court.

Attending Court; recording pleas, judgments, and dispositions; arranging trial calendars; signing Court documents; preparing and issuing warrants and commitmentd and other Court-related documents.

Maintaining, forwarding, receiving and reporting such records, reports and files as required by the Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Maintaining and classifying records and files of the Court.

Carrying out such additional duties as may be required in order to fulfill the duties of Court Administrator.


Meet the Court Staff

Judge Robert L. Alexander has been presiding over the Bethlehem-Bloomsbury Joint Municipal Court since 2003.  His law career spans more than thirty years including work as a Municipal Attorney, Municipal Court Judge, Zoning Prosecutor, and he also has a thriving private practice.

Donna Surdich has been the Court Administrator here for one year and has six years previous experience as a Deputy Court Administrator inSomerset County.

Deputy Court Administrator Monica Griffin has been with the Bethlehem-Bloomsbury court since January of 2006 and has over twenty years combined previous experience in other municipal courts.
